CORONAVIRUS DISEASE (COVID-19) NOTICE TO OUR CLIENTS,
SUPPORTERS AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS

Due to current circumstances and the uncertainty surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), if you find yourself in need of assistance for rent, mortgage, or utilities, please contact your Case Manager for a referral to our Housing Department.  We are here to help.

As many of you are aware, COVID-19 is a global pandemic and a serious public health issue. In the interest of protecting individual and community health from the spread of this virus, FAHASS has initiated its “Continuity of Operations Plan” (COOP). The purpose of our COOP is to have an organized method of continuing operations and our provision of services to the community during this national emergency.

There are a lot of unknowns at this time and we know this can produce a lot of fear and anxiety. FAHASS will remain a source of support for our community and all those that we serve.

In order to reduce the spread and impact of COVID-19, FAHASS staff will be utilizing telework options on rotating shifts, in order to minimize the amount of people in our offices while doing our best to continue most of our normal operations. Additionally, we have been notified that Rappahannock Goodwill, where our Market Street office is located, will be switching to its own telework model. Starting tomorrow, Friday March 20, the doors to Goodwill will be locked at all times and FAHASS will not have access to shared Collaboration Zone spaces until further notice (their stores will remain open).

As a result, we are taking the following steps to protect the community, our clients, and our staff:

  • All walk-in services are discontinued starting Monday, March 23rd. Appointments must be made prior to being seen.

  • All group activities, such as support groups, client dinners, psychosocial programs, etc., are cancelled until we find safe alternatives.

  • All paperwork and required documents needed for services can be dropped off at our newest location, the Mosaic Care Center (10514 Wakeman Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22407).

  • Case managers and other FAHASS staff will be utilizing phone calls and video software to meet with clients when available.

  • Street Outreach and HIV/STI testing in our offices are suspended, but at-home test kits will be made available for anyone that would like to be tested for HIV.  Condoms can also be mailed out to those that request them.

All other services will continue as normal until further notice. FAHASS will update all changes via our website and social media as conditions change.

Be safe, take care of yourself and each other, and as always, please reach out to FAHASS staff if you have any questions or need any support.
